The importance of indoor air quality have been well known. The major pollutants such as formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds(VOC) from the building materials and adhesives has been revealed to be harmful to human so that the indoor air quality control law and official test method has been enforced since May 2004. We have studied functional inorganic powders for interior building materials which is effective in deodorization for polar and nonpolar VOC pollutants not only by adsorption but also by decomposition mechanism. We have compared deodoriaztion effect of various natural powders, their modifications, and the composites composed of them by various detection method. such as acetyl-acetone method by UV, gastec detectoor tubes, gas chromatography, and also TVOC detector for formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, and total VOC. |
