Poly(styrene sulfonate)-functionalized singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWNT-PSS) and Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) nanocomposites |

A general procedure is reported for synthesizing poly (sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) attached to single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs), and fabricating composites of these SWNTs and a conducting polymer (poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene)) or PEDOT. The water-soluble SWNT-PSS were dispersed at concentrations from 0.05 wt % to 0.2 wt % during the polymerization of the 3, 4- ethylenedioxythiophene monomers. Compared to the control PEDOT:PSS films, the composite films showed improved electrical properties and thermal stability, demonstrating its potential for practical technological applications, particularly for the development of opto-electronic devices |
