Catalytic CH4CO2 reforming combines two of the most problematic greenhouse gases to generate syn-gas for the synthesis of clean liquid fuels and valuable chemicals, and therefore is a promising reaction for the control of global warming. Nickel, due to its wide availability and low cost, is frequently used as the active component of catalysts for CH4-CO2 reforming. But, simultaneously it has been shown that Ni-based catalysts are always faced with the deactivation problem caused by carbon deposition. So we studied cobalt based catalyst for low reaction temperature. Catalyst prepared by impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized using chemical analysis by XRD, TGADTG and TPR-H2. The methane reforming reaction was carried out at 100~700 oC. Catalysts activity had CH4 conversions of 50% and CO2 conversions of 50%. |
