A kinetic study on 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate synthesis by esterification of methacrylic acid and ethylene oxide over the ion exchange resin catalyst |
| 초록 |
2-HEMA was prepared through reaction betweenEO andMAA by using an ion-exchange resin as a catalyst. On the assumption that the formation of 2-HEMA is a second-order reaction, the rate constant depending on each temperature and an activation energy were calculated. With the rate equation, The yield of 2-HEMA on the various reaction conditions were compared with experimental data. Also reaction time to reach desired yield is predicted with the rate equation. |
