Swelling behavior of PVA/PAAc hydrogels prepared by gamma irradiation |
| 초록 |
In order to develop biocompatible hydrogels with excellent water-absorption and water retention ability, crosslinked complexes of poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid) (PVA/PAAc) hydrogels were prepared by gamma irradiation. When the weight ratio of PVA/PAAc was 2:8 and the dose of irradiation was 10 kGy, the PVA/PAAc hydrogels had a good hydrophilicity and exhibited an excellent swelling behavior and mechanical properties. From these preliminary evaluations, it is possible to conclude that these PVA/PAAc hydrogels have potential for applications in the biomedical field. |
