Fuel cell, based on polymer electrolyte membranes has especially attracted interest from academia and industry. Many researchers reported many materials for fuel cell membrane. Among engineering plastics, polysulfone is intensively studied because of its good physical properties and ion conductivity et.. These polysulfone derivatives mainly contained sulfonic groups in its main chain. However, these main chain substituted materials have some draw back in the design of molecular structure. In this study, we report the synthesis of Polysulfone-g-Poly(styrene sulfonic acid) sodium salt for fuel cell membrane. This polymers are synthesized by living radical polymerization. Controlled polymer architecture can be realized via living radical polymerization. The synthesized polymers were characterized by NMR and any other methods. Physical properties such as proton conductivity are will be discussed. |
