We have manufactured a series of epoxy nanocomposite films reinforced with carbon-based hybrid nanofillers of graphene and MWCNT. Structural and morphological features of epoxy/hybrid nanofiller nanocomposite films were characterized by using SEM, TEM, and XRD. Electrical resistivity and electric heating behavior of the nanocomposite films were investigated by ohmmeter and infrared-camera. It was found that hybrid nanofillers were well dispersed in the epoxy resin matrix and that the electrical resistivity of the nanocomposite films was varied with the relative composition of graphene/MWCNT in the hybrid nanofillers. Accordingly, the electric heating behavior of the nanocomposite films were strongly dependent on the composition of hybrid nanofillers. The performance of the nanocomposite films as electric heating materials was analyzed in aspects of temperature response rapidity, electric power efficiency, and operational stability at different applied voltages of 1~100 V. |
