In this work, activated carbon nanofiber (ACNFs) electrodes with high double layer capacitance and good rate capability were prepared from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers by optimizing the carbonization temperature prior to CO2 activation. The surface morphologies and structural characteristics of ACNFs were investigated by SEM and XRD, respectively. The content of nitrogen was determined by the analysis of XPS and EA. Textural properties of the ACNFs prepared were investigated by N2/77K adsorption isotherms. The nitrogen content could be easily tailored by controlling the carbonization temperatures. With increasing the carbonization temperatures, the porosity gradually increased, while the nitrogen content decreased. The carbonization temperature has a marked effect on both the pore structure, and the electrochemical performances of the ACNFs. |
