제목 Preparation and Characterization of Short-block Type Crosslinked Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Materials for electrochemical applications
초록 The ion conducting membrane is the key component of electrochemical devices. The main requirements of ion exchange membrane for electrochemical application are outstanding dimensional stability and low fuel permeability. In this study, we investigated crosslinked short-block type anion exchange membrane(AEM) material with partially rigid backbone structure which was based on poly(phenylene)-b-poly(arylene ether) for electrochemical application. We fabricated four AEMs with various ion exchange capacity(IEC) of 1.08-1.72 meq./g, which showed reasonable water uptake(WU) and dimensional change in water. Various cell performance data indicated that crosslinked AEMs were suitable for electrochemical energy system. The AEMs showed outstanding coulombic efficiency(CE) of 99%, voltage efficiency(VE) of 88% and energy efficiency(EE) of 89% in VRFB. A single cell performance with the crosslinked AEMs showed reasonable power density of 100 mW∙cm-2 at 60 ℃ in alkaline fuel cell.
