Polyurethane acrylates are used as adhesives, coating materials, or optical fibers. They are typically made of a polyester or polyether diol of low molecular weight, an hydroxy-terminated acrylate or methacrylate, and a diisocyanate. Toluene diisocyante(TDI) is one of the most currently used diisocyantes in urethane technology. 2,4-TDI is asymmetrical and therefore different reactivity of the NCO groups influencing the kinetics of polyurethane formation. The purpose of the study is the investigation of the reaction kinetics of TDI and OH-functional molecules. In-situ FT-IR spectra, 1H-NMR, and GPC were used in this study. |
