제목 Characteristic analysis of 8 ton/day fixed bed downdraft MSW gasifier using CFD analysis
초록 The scenario of waste treatment was primarily focused towards recycling, landfills and incineration. However, the waste gasification process is gaining popularity as waste treatment process. The waste gasification process is used to generate syngas which can be used for high efficiency power generation system or also can be effectively used to produce chemicals of industrial applications. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was used to study the characteristics of 8 ton/day fixed bed downdraft municipal solid waste (MSW) gasifier. For the development of the 3D diagram and the meshing ANSYS Designmodeler V. 15 and ANSYS Meshing V. 15 was used, respectively while ANSYS FLUENT V. 15 was used as the solver. The results obtained from the simulation were compared with the experimental data which showed that the simulation model followed can be used to study the characteristics of MSW gasifier.
