Cyclodextrins have hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic exterior. To improve the solubility of cyclodextrin in the aqueous solution, various schemes of the synthesis of carboxymethyl β-cyclodextrin (CMCDs) were experimented. Its derivatives were characterized using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analysis. Various vitamins were introduced into the carboxymethyl β-cyclodextrin (CMCD). The loading efficiency was investigated using UV-spectroscopy. In addition, the vitamin release profiles from the CMCD were evaluated in an aqueous solution. To apply CMCD to the antioxidant activity, the antioxidant efficiency was measured from vitamin loaded CMCDs, in the result of sustained and elongated property as an antioxidant. |
