Genome-Scale in silico Model of Microalgae, Synchocystis sp. PCC6803 |

Cyanobacteria are the photosynthetic prokaryotes to produce valuable light-harvesting macromolecules. Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 is the first cyanobacteria to be fully sequenced. To establish in silico model based on whole genome sequence, the first step is to identify all the open reading frame and determine their biochemical reactions with gene-protein-reaction association. After all the network gaps are filled by biochemical or physiological evidences, the accuracy of metabolic network can be analyzed by mathematical methods. This in silico model is included with 716 biochemical reactions. This work demonstrates that metabolic reconstruction of Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 can be used to obtain the predictions of molecular and cellular phenomena of microalgae and develop photosynthetic mechanism deeply. |
