제목 Preparation and mechanical properties of core/shell poly(butylene terephthalate / polyamide 6, 12
초록  Poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) and Nylon6,12 filaments have been widely used as a fine fiber material because of their outstanding physical properties. Nevertheless, each of them surely has disadvantages and therefore they will be able to have much better properties if they complement each other. For this reason, we have produced PBT/Nylon6,12 filaments with core/shell structure. These were prepared in a twin-screw co-extruder with different ratios from 70/30 to 30/70 wt% at about 260°C, and they were fixedly extruded 0.178 mm in diameter. Morphology and thermal properties of the PBT/Nylon6,12 filaments were characterized using a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Their mechanical properties including tensile strength, elongation and bending recovery were examined using a universal testing machine (UTM).
