Thermal Stabilities and Mechanical Interfacial Properties of Polyethersulfone blended Epoxy Resins |
초록 |
The thermal stabilities and mechanical behaviors developed in a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) epoxy resin have been investigated in the poly(ether sulfone) (PES). The curing behaviors were characterized by DSC measurement. As a result, the curing reaction rate was decreased with the increase of PES contents. It was noted that the addition of thermoplastic on DGEBA led to the dilution effect of reactive group of DGEBA. The TGA and DMA results revealed that the thermal stability and glass transition temperature (Tg) were slightly decreased with increasing the PES content. This might be caused by the reduction of cross-linking density of the epoxy network, which could be attributed to the incomplete curing reaction in the DGEBA/PES system. The fracture toughness factor KIC was increased according to the addition of PES. It indicated that the improved toughness of DGEBA/PES resulted from the physical interaction between DGEBA and PES. All the results suggested that the addition of PES into DGEBA induced higher toughness while no significant decrease of thermal stability and Tg was observed. |
