Organic solar cells have been focused on due to its low-cost associated with solution processing and potential source of renewable energy. However, bulkheterojunction with PCBM is still limited by mismatch of the absorption to the solar spectrum of the donor polymer. Its optical band-gap is not optimized with respect to the maximum photon flux of the solar spectrum between 350 nm and 650 nm. In order to use more photon flux, the most common synthetic method used to achieve low band-gap polymer is the push-pull approach, in which alternating electron-donor and electron-acceptor units in the polymer backbone. With these reason, we synthesized low band gap polymer containing electron-donor and electron-acceptor units such as dithieno[3,2-b;2’,3’-d]thiophene and 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole. The characterization, electrochemical properties and optical properties of polymer are discussed. |
