제목 Ion-Induced Columnar and Bicontinuous Cubic Liquid Crystalline Phases in Amphiphilic Block Codendrimers
초록 We synthesized two homodendrimers (A3 and B3) and two block codendrimers (A2B and AB2). We chose three hydrophilic dendron (A)-containing dendrimers and for each dendrimer, two ion-doped samples, 1 and 2, [Li+]/[EO] were 0.2 and 0.4, respectively, were prepared. The ion-doped samples from the homodendrimer (A3) were shown to be viscous amorphous liquid. While the resutls of the POM, DSC, and X-ray scattering showed that A2B-1 exhibited an interdigitated lamellar structure, whereas A2B-2 showed a bilayered columnar structure. Taking into account the hydrophilic volume fraction (f = 0.74) of A2B-2, its columnar matrix is composed of hydrophilic coils and ionic species. The AB2-1 with f = 0.47 self-organized into a bilayered columnar structure with a hydrophobic matrix. The AB2-2 with f = 0.53 revealed a bicontinuous cubic structure with Ia3d. Consequently, we can be systematically engineered as a function of the inserted ion concentration and/or hydrophilic volume fraction.
