The self-assembly of block copolymer(BCP) film can be directed into highly ordered structures by area-selective material fabrication method using low intensity infrared or visible laser. In the plane of the BCP film, laser scanning spontaneously aligns vertical lamellar nanodomain along the scan direction. Here we investigate a mechanism of changing worm-like structure into highly ordered vertical lamellae using self-consistent-field theory. To represent laser beam movement, we introduce slowly time-varying Flory-Huggins parameter assuming a quasi-static process. By systematically exploring the parameter space and the boundary conditions, the conditions for the spontaneous alignment are found. Comparison of grain boundary energy values of worm-like structure and lamellae confirms that vertical lamellae structure is more preferred. |
