제목 Study on Ar plasma, O2 plasma and O2 thermal treatment on titanium surface for biomedical applications
초록 The aim of this study was to evaluate the blood protein adsorption after Ar plasma, O2 plasma and O2 thermal treatment on titanium surfaces. The treatment of titanium plates were performed with Ar plasma, O2 plasma(300W, for 10min and 30min) and O2 thermal(500℃, for 10min and 30min) respectively. Morphology of pretreated titanium surface was observed with Scanning electron microscope and roughness meter. Surface characteristics were evaluated using contact angle analyzer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, surface zeta-potential analyzer and Auger electron spectroscopy. Changes in biological activity was determined by analyzing bovine serum albumin (BSA) adsorption. All treatments changed hydrophilicity of titanium surfaces, however, they had no correlated with BSA adsorption. Meanwhile, we found chemical composition of titanium surface were changed by the treatments. According to the results, treatment of O2 plasma for 10min on titanium surface had better result on BSA adsorption.
