Surface modification of Nitinol stent with heparinized hyaluronic acid for improving blood compatibility |
초록 |
Blood compatibility of Nitinol (NiTi) has been intensively required because NiTi is widely used for biomedical applications such as catheters, stents, and superelastic needles. In this study, NiTi surface was modified by grafting heparin (Hep) conjugated hyaluronic acid (HA)-dopamine (HADA) to improve blood compatibility of NiTi. HADA as a coating material was first prepared by covalently introducing dopamine to HA polymer. HADA was immobilized on NiTi surfaces at pH 8.5, indicating an oxidation of DA. Hep was then conjugated to HADA on NiTi (NiTi-HA-Hep) substrate by an inverse emulsion polymerization technique employing divinyl sulfone as a crosslinker. NiTi-HA-Hep surfaces were analyzed with contact angle, XPS, AFM, micro BCA, and Toluidin blue assay. Blood compatibility and cytocompatibility of the surfaces were evaluated. This study indicated that NiTi-HA-Hep substrate would be promising for blood-contacting medical applications including stent. |
