제목 End-Group Crosslinked Poly(arylene ether)for Reverse Osmosis Membrane
초록 The high chlorine resistant membrane consists of end-group crosslinked sulfonated poly(arylene ether) (E-SFQK) was synthesized via direct polymerization of potassium 2,5-dihydroxybenzenesulfonate (SHQ) and decafluorobiphenyl (DFBP), followed by a reaction with ethynylphenol (EP). To compare to the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane performance (NaCl rejection and water permeability), the degree of sulfonation was optimized 100% to 70%. The crosslinking reaction of the ethynyl end group of E-SFQK was performed at 250 oC. The crosslinking reaction was characterized by DSC exothermal peak. At 100% degree of sulofnation, crosslinking of E-SFQK improves NaCl rejection from 75.2% to 89%. The chlorine resistant test was employed at NaOCl (3000 ppm) and NaCl (2000 ppm) solution at pH4 for 10 days. Before and after chlorination there is no noticeable the chemical change observed both non-crosslinking and crosslinkg membrane.
