제목 | In Situ Crosslinked Chitosan/Polyethylene glycol Hybrid Hydrogels(1):Synthesis and Characterization |
초록 | Hybrid hydrogels composed of natural and synthetic polymers have been emerged to improve the mechanical and biological properties of hydrogels. In this study, we developed injectable hydrogels composed of chitosan and PEG using horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-catalyzed reaction. The polymers, Chitosan-hydroxylphenyl propionic(CH) and Polyethylene glycol-tyramine(PT) were respectively synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and UV. The physico-chemical and mechanical properties of hydrogels were investigated by varying the polymer compositions(CH:PT=10:0~0:10 in weight percent). Interestingly, PEG concentration of 5 wt% singnificantly increased the mechanical strength of hybrid hydrogels compared to only CH or PT hydrogels. These results suggest that the mechanical properties of CH/PT hydrogels are adjustable by tuning the polymer composition for a wide range of biomedical application.
