Design principles of photoelectrochemical Si cells |
초록 |
Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting for hydrogen evolution is a promising technology to store intermittent renewable energy. Here, I’ll present our recent results on the design principles for efficient PEC cells. In particular, a model study based on a well-established Si technology was performed to unravel 1) the role of the surface area of opaque cocatalysts and 2) the effect of band alignment between a cocatalyst and a photoabsorber for efficient light driven charge transfer kinetics. Detailed analysis will be discussed. |
