Tunable luminescent materials that respond to different external stimuli are of great interest because of its potential applications in sensors, switches and optical devices. An organogel is a thermoreversible viscoelastic material consisting of a large amount of solvent molecules and an entangled nanofiber network formed by self-assembly of low mass gelator molecules. In this study, we prepared a reversible thermochromic polymer film using a thiophene-containing fluorescent organogelator. The gelator had terminal vinyl groups, which could be used for the cross-linking reaction. The gelator showed a thermoreversible sol-gel transition in monomeric solvents such as methyl methacrylate, hexyl methacrylate, ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate, accompanying the color changes in emission. The polymer film was prepared by the photoinitiated gel-state polymerization and its thermochromism was studied. |
