The synthesis of well-ordered hybrid materials with small and uniform metal NPs is one of the most important challenges to stimulate synergetic effects, i.e. catalytic and optoelectronic properties. Here, we report a highly versatile approach toward the synthesis of uniform array of AuNPs within ionic block copolymer matrices. The Au ions can be selectively sequestered in ionic domains of block copolymers, followed by photochemical reduction process. We were able to control the size of AuNPs in ranges of 1.5 ~ 5nm by adjusting the ionic strength of block copolymer matrices. Significantly improved methanol oxidation properties were achieved with our hybrid materials owing to the coexistence of ion conducting domains and the interconnected network of AuNPs confined within self-assembled microstructures. TEM, AFM and XRD were carried out to investigate the self-assembled hybrid structure and the electrocatalytic acitivty was measured using cyclic voltammetry. |
