제목 Structural and property characterization of acrylonitrile-based terpolymers synthesized via aqueous dispersion polymerization
초록 Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is one of the most widely used precursor polymers for making high performance carbon fibers (CFs). However, to improve the processability of PAN homopolymer into CFs, AN-based copolymers incorporating methyl acrylate (MA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), vinyl acetate (VA), and itaconic acid (IA) have been investigated. On continuing those efforts, in this study, we synthesized a series of AN-based terpolymers with different VA and IA contents via an aqueous dispersion polymerization technique, investigated their molecular structures, thermal and mechanical properties as potential precursors for high performance CFs
