제목 Nanoporous Carbon Materials from Graphite Nanofibers
초록 Recently, porous carbon materials have been widely used in separation, purification, catalytic processes, and even fuel cells due to their excellent pore structures. In this work, the activation process of graphite nanofibers was performed with two kinds of producing methods, namely the physical and chemical activations, in order to manufacture nanoporous carbon materials. The physical activation was done by CO2 gas at a heating rate of 5 ℃/min to each temperature of 700, 800, 900, and 1000℃ for 2h. The CO2 flow rate was maintained at 30 ml/min. In case of the chemical activation, potassium hydroxide (KOH) was used as a chemical agent as a function of GNFs-KOH weight ratio from 1.0 to 4.0. The pore structure was analyzed by N2 adsorption isotherms at 77K. The amount of nitrogen adsorbed was used to calculate the specific surface area by the means of the BET equation. Total pore volume was estimated to be the liquid volume of nitrogen at a relative pressure of about 0.995. In addition, a scanning electron microscope and a transmission electron microscope were used to investigate the surface morphologies and pore structures of the nanoporous graphite nanofibers manufactured in this system.
