Docetaxel is important chemotherapeutic drug widely used today for the treatment of various types of cancer. Docetaxel is known to exert its therapeutic effect. However, the clinical usefulness of this drug is particularly hampered by their poor solubility. So they should be injected with Cremophor EL. Also these carriers need to be biocompatible, highly soluble, stable, capable of loading large amount of anticancer drugs, and able to conjugate with the targeting molecules. Heparin-docetaxel conjugates were designed a self assembled nanoparticles for using LMWH as a hydrophilic segment and Docetaxel as a hydrophobic segment. The chemical bonding of the conjugates was characterized by 1H-NMR, FT-IR, UV/Vis spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering(DLS), fluorescence spectroscopy. Finally, we describe LMWH-PTX nanoparticles for enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect and decreased other side effects. |
