Emulsification is the most basic principle of cosmetic manufacture which is mixing oil phase and water phase. For that purpose, surfactants are used, and the HLB Value of the surfactant used at this time is very important. HLB stands for hydrophile-lipophile balance and is an index showing the balance between hydrophilicity and lipophilicity of an emulsifier. The higher the HLB value is more hydrophilic and less, more lipophilic. In this study, we manufactured a cosmetic emulsion using various suitable non-ionic surfactants having an different HLB value. Then we measured the viscosity, particle size and zeta potential of the cosmetic emulsion by HLB Value for 16 weeks and evaluated the stability. |
