Facile one-pot synthesis of sulfur-doped graphene |

We report a novel approach for direct synthesis of sulfur-doped graphene using S-containing organic molecules (dimethyl sulfoxide, DMSO) and sodium hydroxide. The morphology of S-doped graphene was analyzed by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses of the S-doped graphene showed S atom successfully incorporated into graphene frameworks. According to the elemental analysis, the sulfur content of S-doped graphene was 22.8 wt%. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of S-doped graphene varied in the range of 754-1564 m2 g-1. |
