Synthesis of Templated Porous Carbons and Their Electrochemical Performance |

Ordered porous carbons prepared by silica-templating method using petroleum pitch as carbon precursor were used as the electrode materials for supercapacitors. The morphological properties were performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and field emission transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM). The textural properties were confirmed by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. The electrochemical performance was characterized by cyclic voltammograms (CV). The results indicated that ordered porous carbons enhanced specific capacitance and this study indicates that these materials can be advantageously used for the fabrication of supercapacitors. |
