제목 Amphiphilic Random Copolymers for Anti-Biofouling Applications
초록 Amphiphilic random copolymers consisting of hydrophobic styrene (St) and hydrophilic 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA)/poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEGMA) are already known for biofouling resistance in buffered aqueous solutions. Random copolymers were synthesized with varying ratio of P(St-r-PEGMA), P(St-r-HEMA), and P(St-r-PEGMA-r-HEMA). Synthesis of amphiphilic random copolymers was investigated by 1H-NMR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The random copolymers were spin-coated on silicon wafer and protein adsorption experiments were carried out with fluorescein isothiocyanate conjugate-labeled bovine serum albumin (FITC-BSA). Experimental results suggest that the silicon wafers coated with amphiphilic random copolymers indicate good anti-biofouling effects.
