제목 Porous carbons derived from rice husk and their high kinetic performance for capacitive deionization
초록 Porous carbons for capacitive deionization were prepared by carbonization of agricultural by-product rice husks and either of the two kinds of further treatment. Firstly, the meso-porous carbon was obtained by the removal of silicon components using hydrofluoric acid from carbonized rice husk. Secondly, the Si-doped porous carbon was derived by steam activation of carbonized rice husk to partially eliminate the carbon fraction. Porous carbons were employed as an electrode material for water purification and compared with commercial active carbon. In the batch mode experiment, all carbons have the Langmuir isotherm curve and Pseudo-second order kinetic model. The maximum salt removal was proportional to the surface area. However, Si-doped porous carbon had excellent adsorption kinetics due to its enhanced ion affinity and open-porous structure. Si-doped porous carbon have the best performance to desalinate the brine with superior adsorption kinetics in the continuous test.
