제목 Sulfur-doped carbon nanoplates from waste coffee grounds precursors for use in supercapacitors
초록 Supercapacitors are a promising electrochemical energy storage device because of their fast charge/discharge capability, cycle stability, variety of applications, and high power density. The electrode materials used in supercapacitors should have a high surface area, pores that match the size of ions and heteroatoms such as oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus for pseudo-capacitive effects. Sulfur, like heteroatoms, leads to pseudo-capacitive effects by its lone-pair electrons and modifies pore size/structures in porous carbons. In this study, microporous carbon nanoplates (MP-CNP) were fabricated from waste coffee grounds through carbonization and chemical activation of KOH. And, S-doped MP-CNP were prepared by coating the surface of MP-CNP with sulfur through thermal evaporation of sulfur powders. We applied this material to electrode of supercapacitors and investigated its electrochemical performance.
