In this study, we present fabrication of crosslinked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) for ionic polymer-metal composite (IPMC) actuator. In spite of its high mechanical property and chemical stability, crosslinked SPEEK exhibit damage of the electrode during actuation which decreases its actuation capability. To overcome this problem, pre-fabricated platinum powder was dispersed into each side of the membrane via simple casting method followed by impregnation-reduction process to enhance eht electrode adhesion onto the membrane. The IPMC from the modified crosslinked SPEEK exhibits stable performance with repeated actuation cycle. |
