Polyamide 6 nanocomposites containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized by conducting polymers |

To improve the electrical and mechanical properties of polyamide 6 (PA 6), nanocomposites using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared by melt-compounding method. MWNTs were fuctionalized by conducting polymers (pyn-pyl) containing both pyrene and pyrrole for non-covalent functionalization and electrochemical polymerication, respectively, to obtain better dispersion of MWNTs in PA 6matrix. PA 6/MWNT nanocomposites containing conducting polymer(pyn-pyl) exhibited much improved electrical and mechanical properties than those of PA 6/pristine MWNT nanocomposites. |
