In this work, polyurethane acrylate inversed opal separators have been successfully fabricated and studied its potential as a promising separator for high-performance lithium ion battery. Precisely ordered nanoporous structure of inversed opal allows significant improvement in ionic conductivity. In additional, to improve surface property, the inversed opal separator was modified by coating with Tannic acid (TA) and hybrid layer coating (TA/inorganic additive). The coated Tannic acid separator becomes more hydrophilic which enhance the liquid electrolyte uptake and ionic conductivity of separator resulting in excellent rate capability and cycle stability. Moreover, for hybrid layer coated separator, it is expected that the composite separator the hybrid layer solved the safety issue at high temperature. As a result, IO separator with TA/inorganic achieved the significantly enhanced electrochemical performance. |
