Graphene-Conducting Polymer Hybrid Electrode for Polymer Solar Cells |

We report highly efficient polymer solar cells (PSCs) with hybrid electrode combining single layer graphene (GR) with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). A PEDOT:PSS layer reduced sheet resistance of GR by 50% due to its strong and stable doping effect. The GR/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrode shows low sheet resistance of ~ 66 Ω/sq. and high transmittance of ~ 90%. We found that the GR/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrode can be used not only as an anode in conventional PSCs but also as a cathode in inverted PSCs, which showed high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) comparable to those of the reference PSCs with indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes. |
