Electrospinning experiments have been carried out in this study using two polymer solutions, i.e., Nylon6 and PLA solutions with different crystallization kinetics. Considering the fact that Nylon6 has faster crystallization rate than PLA, the effect of annealing conditions on the crystallization of two electrospun fibers has mainly been focused. From the rheological, thermal, morphological, and structural tests, the relationship between the structure and crystallization kinetics of as-spun and annealed fibers has been elucidated. Optimal conditions for the formation of stable jets have been decided by examining their morphology. It has been revealed that PLA as-spun fiber shows cold crystallization due to its slow crystallization rate in thermal analysis. Also, the structure change of annealed Nylon6 fibers with annealing time is totally different with that of annealed PLA fibers, according to the degree of the flow-induced crystallization acting on the spinline. |
