Preparation and Characterization of Insulin Microspheres usingN-Carboxymethyl Chitosan |

N-Carboxymethyl chitosan(NCMchitosan) was prepared by chemical reaction with glyoxylic acid to low molecular weight water soluble chitosan(LMWSC) of C2-NH2 (N-Carboxymethylc chitosan) group to apply as protein and drug carrier. Insulin loaded NCMchitosan microspheres were prepared by ion-complex. Particle size distribution, zeta potential of the microspheres were determined using dynamic light scattering technique. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was also used to observe the morphology of the microspheres. It was found that the microspheres carried positive charges and showed a size distribution in the range of 1-1.7μm. |
