제목 Enhanced π-Conjugation for High Current Density in Naphtho[2,1-b:3,4-b']dithiophene-Based Conjugated Polymers for Organic Solar Cells
초록 Two novel polymeric semiconductor materials based on naphtho[2,1-b:3,4-b']dithiophene (NDT), PNDT-TTT and PNDT-TET, have been synthesized and tested in bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. PNDT-TTT contains tri-thiophene units and PNDT-TET contains bi-thiophene units coupled by ethylenic linkages; when compared to PNDT-T, which contains single thiophene units, these polymers exhibit red-shifted absorption spectra, enhanced conjugation lengths, and improved coplanarity because of their higher electron density. These effects result in high short circuit currents (JSC) and fill factors (FF) in organic solar cells. The PNDT-TET- and PNDT-TTT-based devices exhibit considerably better photovoltaic performances, with power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 3.5% and 3.3% respectively, than the PNDT-T-based device (1.3%).
