제목 | Poly(ε-caprolactone) and collagen based scaffolds for drug release |
초록 | A new biodegradable polymeric scaffold containing high molecular weight poly(ε-caprolatctone) (PCL) and collagen were prepared. These scaffolds were found to be soft, spongy and transparent in nature. To these scaffolds, anti-microbial drugs amikacin and gentamycin were incorporated separately to study their release profile from scaffolds. The amikacin and gentamycin release activity of these scaffolds with a fixed collagen content but different quantities of poly(ε-caprolatctone) (PCL) were studied during 1, 4, 24, 48 and 60 h by measuring the optical density at 257 and 255 nm amikacin and gentamycin, respectively.
