Characterization of poly(acrylic acid) nanogel prepared by electron beam irradiation |

In recent years, hydrogel nanoparticles have gained considerable attention as one of the most promising nano particulate drug delivery systems due to their unique potential for combining the characteristics hydrogel with a nano size. In this study, the nanogels of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) in aqueous solution were prepared by electron beam irradiation. PAA powder and hexane were dissolved in the distilled water (DIW) by using a mechanical stirrer and then irradiated by electron beam. The size and morphology of PAA nanogel with increasing irradiation dose were investigated by several scientific equipments; field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and a particle size analyzer (PSA). Also, the zeta potential of PAA nanogel as a function of electron beam irradiation dose has been confirmed by PSA. |
