In order to impart recognition selectivity to nanomaterials for the detection of targets, it is essential to functionalize their interface with affinity molecules including proteins and peptides. In this talk, the interfacial functionalization of graphene oxide (GO), which is an emerging luminescent nanomaterial with photostable and unique photoluminescence (PL), with a peptide-quencher complex or a metal complex for designing GO-based optical biosensors will be presented. In addition, the selective detection of proteases or neurotransmitters using the functionalized GO-based biosensors will be introduced. |
