In this study, we prepared activated carbon fibers with micro/mesopore to investigate effect of mesopore on capacitance. Physical and chemical activation were carried out to prepare micro/mesoporous carbon fibers. Mesopore of carbon fibers derived from silica template and micropore was developed using KOH activation. The textural properties of prepared samples were assessed BET specific surface area, and pore size distribution. Also, the electrochemical properties of activated carbon fibers were evaluated using cyclic voltammetry. It was observed that the mesopore volume of prepared samples was increased as increasing of silica template amount and specific capacitances also improved according to increase mesopore volume. It is thought that mesopore of activated carbon fibers were effective to enhance EDLC performance. |
