제목 Fabrication of high strength PVA composite fiber with poly(dopamine)-coated graphene oxide by gel spinning
초록 High-strength composite fiber were prepared from poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) reinforced by poly(dopamine)-coated graphene oxide (dGO). GO sheets were simultaneously modified and reduced by heat-induced polymerization of poly(dopamine) in neutral aqueous solution. The macroscopically homogeneous dispersion dGO in PVA/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)/H2O solution was extruded into methanol to form fibers by gel spinning followed by a hot-drawing. A combination of hydrogen bonding and strong adhesion of poly(dopamine) at the interface of PVA and GO sheets resulted in increase their mechanical properties. The tensile strength of PVA/dGO composite fiber with 0.3 wt% dGO was 1.21 GPa, which increased by 114.2 % relative to neat PVA fiber.
