제목 Preparation and Characterization of CO2-Responsive Poly(amino acid) Derivatives with Guanidine Group
초록 α,β-Poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl-DL-aspartamide)s, PHEAs, a class of the poly(amino acid)s having pendent hydroxyl groups, are biodegradable and biocompatible polymer favoring not only bio-applications, but using as environment friendly material. By discovering that polymers containing guanidine functionality have been shown to be reversibly responsive to CO2, we have synthesized arginine-conjugated PHEA, PHEA-L-arginine (PHEA-Arg), to produce a novel CO2-responsive poly(amino acid) material. By using glutaraldehyde as crosslinker in the presence of acid catalyst, PHEA-Arg hydrogel was prepared, having not only relatively good gel strength, but CO2-responsive swelling property. This new polyaspartamide hydrogel has potential in several applications including CO2 capture, CO2-responsive & switchable surface, and smart gel for controlled DDS.
