Inorganic nanoparticles have many interesting properties such as catalytic activity, biofunction, optical modulation, etc. Immobilization of this inorganic nanoparticle on certain substrates typically requires precise synthetic efforts to link nanoparticles with functional groups of substrates. This research demonstrates the preparation of dopamine-functionalized gold nanoparticles through simple organic reactions. Dopamine has excellent covalent/noncovalent adhesion properties towards various substrates. This dopamine-functionalized nanoparticle can be utilized as a efficient method to modify certain substrates with active nanoparticles. The detailed preparation methods are confirmed by UV-VIS, FT-IR, TEM, and NMR tools. |
