Electrospun nanofibrous cellulose membranes can be an ideal candidate for an actuator because of the piezoelectric effect of cellulose. However, cellulose does not dissolve in conventional solvents due to strong intra- and intermolecular interactions. Recently, several solvent systems have been developed to dissolve cellulose. Lithium chloride/N,N-dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) is regarded as one of the most effective systems. In the present study, we used the LiCl/DMAc system to prepare the electrospun nanofibrous cellulose membrane. The effect of the orientation on the crystallinity of cellulose was examined by WAXD. FE-SEM was used to observe the morphology of the oriented electrospun cellulose membranes. Mechanical properties of the electrospun cellulose membrane were investigated by UTM. Thermal stability was measured by TGA, and the displacement was determined by a laser displacement sensor under different voltages. |
