Solution processible conjugated polymers have attracted considerable attention due to their possible application in organic and polymeric electronics. In recent years, most solution-processible conjugated materials have been based on polythiophenes and/or fluorene- and thiophene. We report alternating conjugated copolymers comprised of thiophene and fluorene (and/or analogues of fluorene) moiety. The polymers were synthesized by palladium-catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. The resulting copolymers have been investigated as semiconductor layers in field effect transistors, and the crystalline property of the polymers was studied by DSC, PLM, and XRD to understand their charge transport mechanism. Synthetic details, characterization results, and device characteristics will be discussed in this presentation. |
